I was at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books yesterday and someone came up to me and informed me that THE HUNCHBACK OF NEIMAN MARCUS was #9 on the Los Angeles Times Bestselling Paperbacks! This is the very first time a book of mine has been on a bestseller list. I am dancing with the stars!

The panel I was on at the Festival of Books, LIVES INTERRUPTED, was exquisitely moderated by Amy Alkon, who wrote I SEE RUDE PEOPLE. Never was there a more prepared, more intelligent, more entertaining moderator!

Here is a portrait I took of Amy:

And my fellow panelists were brilliant and charming:

Rachel DeWoskin, who wrote BIG GIRL SMALL

Luanne Rice, who wrote THE SILVER BOAT

and Lian Dolan, who wrote HELEN OF PASADENA

I bought all four of their books and can’t wait to begin reading them!

Mother’s Day is less than a week away, so this is me reminding you, that THE HUNCHBACK OF NEIMAN MARCUS would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift!

  1. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for rookie blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
